Nineteen-fifty eight was the third and final year for the limited production Plymouth Fury Sport Coupe. Availabe only as a two door hardtop in one color with gold trim, the Fury was Plymouth's premium priced star, showcasing the manufacturer's engineering experience. The Fury name continued to be used for many years, but never again in reference to a single, exclusive model.
For 1958, the Fury received a mirror facelift, including falling inline with the industry's trend of quad headlights. The Fury's paint color for 1958 was Buckskin Belge with gold trim similar to the previous models. The standard engine was a 290hp 315ci V8 a -, 305hp, 350ci Golden Commando V8 was available as an option throughout the entire Plymouth range. The Fury was equipped with a heavy duty "Tarsian-Aire" suspension, dual exhausts, bumper wings, 150mph speedometer, and padded dash and sun visors.
Although high-performance Plymouths became the favored choise of police departments, the Fury's most famous role was in Stephen King's thriller Christine, Almost as noteworthy, the display car has received more than 30 Best of Show awards!
